WHEAT's Empowerment Programs

Through the Clothes Silo and the Fair Trade Store, WHEAT strengthens individuals and communities both locally and globally. By helping women move toward self-sufficiency and supporting artisans and farmers through ethical trade, our programs create opportunities grounded in dignity, meaningful work and responsible commerce.

WHEAT's Fair Trade Store

Shop with purpose. Choose fair trade.
WHEAT’s Fair Trade Store is an ethical retail store whose goal is to fight global hunger and poverty through the path of fair and ethical trade.

Through our store, we partner with artisan groups and small-scale farmers in more than 30 countries, bringing fairly traded, handcrafted goods to our community – from home décor and jewelry to coffee, tea and chocolate.

Every purchase made in our store supports ethical trade while creating opportunities for artisans around the world. By choosing fair trade, our customers become part of a global movement working to reduce poverty and promote dignity through responsible commerce.

Join hands to build lasting change.

Create a more just and sustainable world.

As members of the Fair Trade Federation, we are committed to fair wages, safe working conditions and environmentally responsible practices. Fair trade strengthens communities by creating sustainable opportunities for the people who craft and grow our products.

A look at our year in numbers – made possible by the artisans, farmers, and customers who are part of our global community:

  • Our shelves tell a global story, featuring handmade goods from 38 different countries.

  • We're proud to work with 103 incredible artisans and small-scale farmers who bring their craft and traditions to life.

  • The average 2025 purchase was $37.05 - proof that it doesn't take much to make a meaningful impact.

  • Our organic Miombo Blossom Honey stole the show in 2025 - a sweet food favorite our customers couldn't get enough of.

  • In 2025, handmade ornaments were our top selling item - a favorite for meaningful gifts and holiday traditions.

Clothes Silo

We are women helping women succeed!™
The Clothes Silo is a women’s thrift boutique whose goal is to help women feel confident, capable and prepared for opportunities ahead. We are open to the public and anyone is welcome to shop.

Through our Client Assistance Program, women working toward financial stability are referred to us by local agencies and are able to shop for clothing at no cost as they prepare for jobs, interviews and everyday life.

Our work is made possible through the generosity of donors who provide new and gently-used women’s clothing and accessories. Purchases made in our store help clients move toward self-sufficiency while directly supporting the program.

Fashion that makes a difference.

Let your generosity help shape a brighter future for all.

With your support, every woman can enjoy convenient, affordable access to high-quality clothing and accessories.

Make a difference by choosing to donate, shop or volunteer with us.

1. Donate

We rely on donations of new and gently-used women's clothing and accessories to make our customers and clients feel their best!

2. Shop

The Clothes Silo is open to the public. We encourage our customers to think secondhand first.

3. Volunteer
